Fine Cut with Alyson: Ivana Shein - Fleishman is in Trouble part twoDownload MP3
Alyson and Ivana Shein (playwright and queer positive mom on Station 19) talk about the sexual assault support group scene from Episode 7 of Fleishman Is in Trouble, starring Claire Danes as Rachel Fleishman and Jesse Eisenberg as Toby Fleishman. The support group scene takes place after the birth of their first child and Rachel’s struggles processing the birth, and assault by her doctor, as well as her subsequent postpartum depression. Rachel’s catharsis and the group’s response showed both women something they’ve never seen before on television or in movies. It’s deep and so is the conversation.
We could have talked for hours, but we kept it brief. Come listen.
